Star Wars

Q: I'm not so sure i understand the whole star wars deal.
star wars has everything from comics, to movies, to action figures.

is there an _original_ novel star wars is based on.?

[[ for example: say there are only three movies-is there a star wars trilogy.?]]

if so, please kindly list the name of the books in order.

thanks in advance.!

A:No, Star Wars was a set of three movies first. There have now been books written that tell the story told in the movies, as well as many many EU (expanded universe) books written about everything from what happened before and after the events in the movies to the stories of characters never even mentioned in the moves...plus there are tons of video games and cartoons and comics and other stuff that tell other parts of the story as well.
Star Wars has created a big, big world that can take some time to understand...I've been a fan since I was 9 and there is still a lot I don't know about it all! It even has it's own wikipedia called Wookiepedia that's full of all kinds of information!
If you're looking for the books based on the 6 movies, they would be titled:
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
However, there are several different versions of each book written by several different people...so it depends on if you want something like the Junior Novelization, or the prequel books written before or after the movies came out, or just the plain regular versions. LOL. Checking Amazon.com for authors of different versions would be an easy way to find out what version you would want.
I'm not sure if that's the answer you were looking for or not, but I do hope that it helped, at least somewhat. :-)
